Simple Beauty

The New Year is upon us, and if you’re like me, and the other millions of people in the USA, you’ve decided on a New Year’s resolution or two. My resolution for 2019 is to lead a more simplistic life. My husband chuckled when I announced that one. I mean, I’m a mom of three, which means I’m managing a family of five while also working a full-time job in the beauty industry for a major retailer. My life is anything but simplistic. However, by first making a few small changes to simplify my beauty routine, I’m finding simplicity migrating into the rest of my life.

Simple Beauty

Removing my hair extensions was the first step. With move-ups every few weeks, I was spending way too much time and money I didn’t have. Five minutes and some fishing line is all it took to turn my tracks into a DIY Halo, which is a weft of hair that sits on my head, gently wedged on with an invisible wire.

See the how-to HERE. Now I have a great head of hair when and if I want it. If I don’t, I can slick it back in a stylish bun with my favorite hair pomade by Malin+Goetz.  Or I can just pop on a fun hat!

Simple Beauty in a Variety of Ways!

This more simplistic approach goes for lash extensions too. There are great serums on the market that will grow your natural lashes beautifully.  You can skip the maintenance and the price of the fills.

Great skin is an important start to any morning routine. If your skin is flawless, then you can go without makeup. If you’re like me, and feel you need a little something to make you look alive, you don’t need much. The three most important products to use are Vitamin C, Retinol, and Sunscreen.

Put some collagen in your morning coffee and watch your skin texture and glow improve before your eyes. You can pick some up at your local GNC or Nordstrom.com

Continuing on the subject of flawless skin, I was recently introduced to Lancôme’s Le Teint Particulier. This is a custom foundation that blends to your complexion perfectly, so it never looks cakey, nor will it give you a color line. Because it’s such a perfect match, you don’t need a concealer — nor do you need to waste time on blending or on a powder to set it. This one product allows you to eliminate three steps from your morning routine.

Simple can be sensational!
