Spring is in the air and it’s time to Marie Kondo your beauty “wardrobe.” Trade in those red matte lips for a vibrant glossy fuchsia, and retire your full coverage foundation for a skin perfecting formula that reveals a natural healthy glow. I promise these new tips and tricks will “bring you joy,” and please don’t forget to “give gratitude” to those beauty products you are letting go of.
As the seasons change, our skin routine needs a little change as well. Keep it simple by choosing multi-tasking products for a quick, easy and effective skincare routine. For example, find a cleanser that exfoliates and tones, a moisturizer infused with SPF or a serum that hydrates. Why not treat yourself to a facial to help your skin spring into Spring? Or better yet, if you’re a mom, offer that to your family as a gift-giving idea for YOU for Mother’s Day. If you’ve never had a Dermaplane facial, where a sterile, surgical scalpel is used to gently “shave” the skin’s surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine hair, you don’t know what you’re missing! Your face will feel baby-soft! DIYer? Invest in the DERMAFLASH tool and get smooth, radiant skin in the comfort and convenience of your own home.
A Glowy, Fresh Face
A glowy, fresh face is a popular look for this spring season. It’s exciting for us busy mamas that our makeup routine will be minimal in comparison to the colder months; however, a mistake that many of us make is not recognizing that the “no-makeup” look is actually achieved with makeup. But no worries, this can still be done in very little time. Get that flawless look by using a luminous tinted moisturizer. Try one of my fave’s, Laura Mercier’s Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer or Lancôme’s “Skin Feels Good” Hydrating Skin Tint. Or you can add a small dollop of your current foundation to a glow serum, like BECCA’s Skin Love Glow Elixir or BOBBI Brown’s Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm.
A pop of glossy color is a quick way to elevate a bare-faced look. Keep the lips nude, and without adding any extra time to your routine, swap out your neutral eyeliner with a bright colored one. Viola! Simple and stunning springtime beauty.
Hair with Flair
Let’s not forget about spring hair. There’s nothing that screams simple like a daytime bun, but with the right product that bun can easily turn into some lush waves for a Spring Fling. Try Kiehls Since 1851 Creme with Silk Groom and see what I mean. Experts say that hair accessories are the trend for 2019, and I couldn’t be more thrilled, as this has been a signature look of mine for years. It truly amps up any up do, especially a simplistic one. Try decorated bobby-pins, headbands and bows, bedazzled word barrettes and even the infamous scrunchie. Probably sounds like something your daughter would wear, well, yes, it is.
And check this out: at-home color is no longer taboo! Keeping up my roots with a trip to the salon is more of a hassle then a luxury these days. Better quality DIY options are hitting the store shelves, and I can’t wait to try them out!
Make sure to follow me on IG (BeautyMom702) where I will post my review, along with my attempt at powder-dipped nails. Another hot spring trend that boasts to save us time and money – and what mama wouldn’t want that?
