The Las Vegas Great Santa Run

Presented by Circle K

One of Southern Nevada’s most cherished holiday traditions – the Las Vegas Great Santa Run – will be going fully virtual this December for the first time in its 16-year history!

So what does that mean? You may be asking yourself, “How do I complete a virtual race? Can I complete the run as a group? Do I have to sign up and pay?”

Don’t worry, we’ve got you all covered below! The spirit of the Las Vegas Great Santa Run will persevere through YOU, and we are excited to carry on this holiday tradition through a virtual run.

What is a virtual race and when will it take place?

For this year’s Las Vegas Great Santa Run, you can tackle your 5K or 1-mile race any time between December 5 and 26. You get to run or walk your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself before sharing your experience with thousands of others online! Just upload your pictures and results afterwards on social media and to your registration profile to be entered into our contests featuring amazing prizes!

Where and how should I run?

You decide! That’s the beauty of this year’s race. Hop on a treadmill, visit your local high school race track, take laps around the yard, journey around a public trail or follow one of our already mapped out and measured trail courses across the Las Vegas Valley!

Do I still receive a Santa suit, medal and race bib?

You sure do! Each registration on includes a Santa suit (while supplies last), a finisher’s medal, a virtual goody bag featuring exclusive offers, a custom print-at-home race bib and a special Santa Run gift. You will also have the option of choosing whether you want to pick up your packet for free at the Opportunity Village Thrift Store (390 S. Decatur Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89107) or have it shipped for a small fee.

Do I have to sign up and pay to race?

Yes. This is one of Opportunity Village’s largest single-day fundraisers and the whole idea of the Las Vegas Great Santa Run is to bring awareness and necessary funds to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern Nevada. And you don’t want to miss out on our amazing prizes!

What do you mean by “prizes?”

We’re excited to announce that there will be various contests held throughout December for runners wherever they are located. Be sure to follow all of the Las Vegas Great Santa Run’s social media accounts to find all of our fun race contests, such as the most creative Santa outfit, best holiday-dressed pet, top fundraising individual or team and much more!

Can we complete the race as a group?

You bet you can! You are more than welcome to complete the race as desired, but please adhere to social distancing and sanitary recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Santa wants you healthy for the holidays and to also compete in this race for years to come!
